Dark Atom Studios isn’t some big company. It started with an idea. Then a script. Then a decision to stop waiting and just build it.
We make comic books and films that feel real. Not perfect heroes. Not clean stories. Real people. Real problems. Real consequences.
DopeSmack™ is where it starts. But trust me… it doesn’t stop there.
I started this as a film. That turned into a comic. That turned into a whole universe I couldn’t ignore. Nobody handed me this. No studio backing. No shortcuts. Just figuring it out, building it piece by piece, and getting it out into the world.
Everything you see here… I had to go make it happen.
This is Louisiana’s superhero universe. Not New York. Not Gotham. Not some made up city. Louisiana. DopeSmack. Anexis. Gator. El Catracho. Electrum. Chief Murphy. DarkAsNight. Some of these stories are just getting started. Some are already moving behind the scenes. Either way… you’re early.
I don’t do this alone. There are artists and collaborators who help bring this to life visually. Different styles. Different voices.
Same goal… make it a hit.
I’ve always been a big comic book fan. Batman. Spider-Man. The XMen.
But lately… a lot of the comics we grew up loving just feel stale. Overproduced. Pushed out by corporations that lost what made them special in the first place. Even Marvel doesn’t feel like what Stan Lee originally set out to build.
I want to tell new stories. Stories that actually come from something real. Stories that feel grounded.
And instead of setting them in the same places we’ve seen a thousand times, I’m building them right here… in a place that’s always been overlooked. A place that has stories to tell but rarely gets the spotlight.
I want to change that.
That’s what this is.
